Description
Part number: OEM Porsche front/Rear sway bar
Specification: solid sway bar
Material: 4130 CrMo spring steel/30CrMo
OEM Porsche front/Rear sway bar is a front-rear anti-roll bar kit dedicated for Porsche 997 C2/S and C4/S, which is usually made from 4130 CrMo spring steel/30CrMo, some are also made from 50CrV4. The front sway bar has a diameter of 26 mm, while the rear sway bar is 24 mm, both bars are solid sway bars and not adjustable.
OEM Porsche front/Rear sway bar gives car owners more precise handling and less rolling without lowering comfortableness. It has the following main characteristics:
1) Use of high-strength special spring steel
2) Without adjustable hole position; stiffness being determined only by diameter and length
3) Common part number (for ordering OEM parts or used parts)
Front bar
997.1 C2 997 343 051 05
997.1 C2S 997 343 051 07
997.2 full Carrera 997 343 051 09
Rear bar
997.1 C2 997 333 051 05
997.1 C2S 997 333 051 07
997.1 C4S 997 333 051 09
997.2 C4S 997 333 051 11
4) Upgrade prompt
C2/C2S: if a more flexible front axle is desired, C4S rear bar (21 mm) may be directly used + keep the OEM front bar.
C4/C4S: the rear bar is thick enough, if further upgrade is required, it is suggested to thicken the rear bar with the front bar (for example, H&R 33239-2 26 mm/24 mm), otherwise over-steering is prone to occurring.
OEM bushings are made of rubber, which has an obvious stiffness decrease after aging; and the bushings must be replaced at the same time when the bar is replaced.
All Carrera (including Porsche 997 C2/S and C4/S) OEM bars are not adjustable, and upgrading to a multi-adjustable sway bar (e.g., H&R 33239-1/2) is one of the most cost-effective chassis modifications for track day enthusiasts and mountain road drivers.
