Description

Specification: 14*300*6+2
Material: 55SiCrA oil-quenched wire
This is a rear coil spring for 9th-Generation Honda Civic. The product has a diameter of 14 mm and 6 coils. Many products on the market have a 13 mm diameter, which is also usable and does not affect usage.
The 9th-generation Honda Civic was sold in China from 2012 to 2015 by Dongfeng Honda (with the chassis code FB2). Positioned as a compact family sedan, it mainly offers two powertrain options: a 1.8 Li-VTEC engine (141 PS) paired with a 5AT/5MT transmission. There are also two high-end models equipped with a 2.0 L TYPE-S engine (155 PS). As of 2025, the Honda Civic has evolved to its 11th generation, with the 10th-generation model being the best-selling one to date.
However, the 10th-generation Civic is designed as a sporty coupe, while the 9th-generation model leans toward practicality for family use. In the used car market, the 9th-generation Civic boasts high resale value and excellent cost-effectiveness.

As a “durable and reliable commuter car”, the 9th-generation Civic’s suspension system is designed in line with this philosophy.
Although its rear coil spring is only a “supporting component” in the suspension system, it directly determines the vehicle’s riding quality and handling limits.
1) The 9th-generation Civic has a multi-link rear suspension with separate springs and shock absorbers, and the spring only bears vertical forces and does not double as a steering strut; and combined with a long free stroke (approximately 320 mm), it filters out small bumps 15-20% more effectively than torsion beam models in the same price range (based on vibration acceleration comparison under 5Hz excitation on a test bench).
2) Springs and shock absorbers are independent, and replacing springs or shock absorbers does not affect each other, resulting in lower maintenance costs.
3) The spring wire is made of Si-Cr alloy steel, with a black epoxy + PE sheath; and it only starts to show rust after 8-10 years of use in northern China, offering a longer service life than ordinary phosphated leaf springs.
